Did I tell y'all about the quail and waffles we had during our getaway?

We went to the 'nice' restaurant at the casino and, as an appatizer, they had quail and waffles.

Which I assume is considered the 'ritzy' version of chicken and waffles.

I don't know that I've ever had chicken & waffles, but...I'd do quail and waffles again.

(the waffles had long-grain wild rice baked into them, served w/ peppered syrup--so a good mix of savory and sweet).

the description was "Grilled Balsamic Marinated Quail, Wild Rice Waffles, Smoked Peppercorn Maple Syrup"

that sounds awesome. 

i never tried chicken and waffles, either, but i'd go for either.

it was pretty amazing.

The rest of teh meal was good, but, this was tremendously good.

Quail is generally good

a lot of the mexican restaurants down here have quail, as does at least one of the vietnamese. 

i like eating weird little birds.
