Up-Do Websites/Pics

Does anyone know of a great website to get wedding-do ideas?  The knot does not have a very great selection (IMO).  If you google search for pics, they are all the same.

I'm in the process of growing my hair out.  Currently it is almost shoulder length, hopefully a few more inches before October.  But it seems too, everything I find is for really long hair.
Better yet, share your pics Smile

Hmmm, I don't really have many suggestions.  I have found most of my favorite hair inspiration by looking through wedding magazines or in totally unrelated ways, like something a celeb wore on the red carpet.

What are you thinking of doing- do you have any idea at all?

My hair is not super long either. I can't even remember where I found my inspiration pic...I think either on the knot or a google image search. I did find some styles that work for shoulder length hair though. Anyway, here's a pic of it, though I don't know if you're interested in wearing it down and curly. But just an idea- I loved my hair! Hopefully someone else can chime in and be more helpful, lol.

EDIT: I missed the "updo" part in your title...I am bored at work, so I'll try to find some pics for you!

Kim your hair is very pretty!

I'm not really sure what I want. I do think I want to wear it up.  I tend to favor the more simple look over my whole head pinned up and curled.  I think of prom when I see that.

I love volume/height on the crown of my head.

My whole like I've had short hair, so trying to decide what is going to look best on me is hard!  Thankfully my ears don't stick out or anything Tongue out

My wedding hair was really simple.  I needed to have it up..if there is a hint of moisture in the air, my hair would friz up and I'd look like Little Orphan Annie.  So this is what my girl did...this is the best picture I could find.

CLW- Your comparison to Little Orphan Annie made me laugh Smile PS: Who is the designer of your dress?  It looks very similar to mine

It's definitely harder than I thought to find some websites...have you checked out brides.com? There seems to be lots of pics on there, and you can narrow it down by style, length, etc.

Also, don't know if you came across these pics in your google search, but here are some I found that have a bit of volume.

Who are you using for hair? Anytime I bring a photo to anyone, it never looks like that on me! Anyway, I had height on my crown. There should be some photos in my barely started married bio. I just let Monica Kitta do whatever and it was perfect.

i forget-are you using monica? if you are, she comes with tons of style books for you to look through.

i personally found my inspiration on the knot and from various bio's. but when it came down to it-i showed her a picture but told her that i wanted something that would still look nice if i took the veil out but left the headpiece in, i didn't want it to look like i was veil-less (though i never did take my veil off...haha).

i have pictures in my planning bio from the trial with monica. however on the day of it came out alot nicer (IMO). the day of it was much tighter and not poufy.

I am using Monica.  I'm relieved to hear that she will take charge! I feel like when I give ppl an idea they don't know how to work with it.

Jrsygrl- Your link isn't working.  But I do remember seeing your day of hair and it was beautiful!

I think I stress too much about it!  But who hasn't stressed about something so minor before!

Kim, I love the style you had. I want to do something very similar to yours.

Duq, I started taking Biotin vitamins from Walmart. I read about them on the beauty boards. Some people say it makes your hair grow faster, other people say it just makes it stronger with less breakage. Whatever it does, I figured it won't hurt. I like the length of my hair but I love to have a few more inches by August.

hmph. *scratches head over not working linky* oh well!

she does take charge and is very good at giving you what you asked for. my sister plopped in to her chair and said-"i want something amy winehouse-ish." and she was happy with what she got. when she does the trial she brings her books so you can look through them then also.

One other thing is that I know myself (I'm very picky about my hair etc.) and alot of times what I do is bring in a few images and say i like the top of this, the back of that etc...  HTH

I ended up picking my hairstyle out of one of Monica's books, and she adapted it slightly. But as others mentioned, she also does a good job of coming up with something if you just describe the general look you're going for, most of my BMs did that.

M-I LOVE the look! If you don't mind me asking, how long is your hair in the pic?  I'm not sure if I would have long enough hair for all of that.  Where di you find the hair pin?

My hair was a little longer than shoulder length. It would work with less. I had too much - from what my stylist said. Haha.

I found the pin at Macys. You could borrow it if you want. :)

Just a suggestion- you can look on wedding photographers websites to get pictures of hairstyles for your day.  My friend got married a year ago and thats where she got hers.  Good Luck.

I am super late to this, but thought I would AW my pro-pics :-) I had a hair trial and did half up, but the day of, I decided to do it all up. It was the best decision for me!

Luckily, my hairstylist is a good friend of mine, so I trusted her to make it look great, and it did! Here is the back:

And this is a good view of the front (with headpiece and veil):
