Found my dress! Now, to get rid of the 1st I never should have bought...

I've only posted once on here so far, and it was out of sadness, looking for insight because I didn't like the dress I bought. It was half the cost, okay, had a few details I liked. But, I didn't feel pretty in it. Just kept trying to rationalize how I was going to make it feel like my dress.. I decided to go back to the salon, tried it on, and after 2 hours, still nothing. They put me in veils, heels, added belts, even said they'd give me a store credit for another dress since I was so unhappy - and I tried on other dresses. Nothing.
I kept thinking about another dress that caught my eye at another salon. So I went from one to the other. Tried it on. Loved. Absolutely had that wow moment. Went by myself. Just me and the bridal assistant. I am so happy and am as excited as I should have been to begin with for my big walk to my future.
MY ADVICE TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A DRESS - make sure you get what YOU want, don't let the pressures get to you. Don't let a sale make up your mind for you! Take photos, sleep on it. It is a very important purchase - whether it's $20 or $2000.
Now, though, I have 2 dresses  and I need to unload the first. Luckily, I didn't pay full price but that is still a large lump that could go towards something else. Tried ebay - had no bids. Any others experience this or sell their dress after? Wondering where is the best site or place to unload this dress to try to recoup some of the money?

Re: Found my dress! Now, to get rid of the 1st I never should have bought...

  • I would try some of the reputable pre-owned sites such as www.preownedweddingdresses.com and www.oncewed.com

You could also try listing your dress on the classified board over to the left.  Make sure to include all necessary information and a few pictures if you can.

Just know that you will not get your full amount back.  Bridal dresses are like cars.  Once they are purchased the resale value drops dramatically.  So aim for 50%.
