Wedding Woes

Holy snow storm, Batman!

We have 7" of heavy, wet snow on the ground and it's still falling at a rate of 1"+ per hour!  I took the bus in because we could not get out of our driveway.  The bus got stuck once, slid past 2 bus stops and about got T-boned by a car who could stop coming out of a parking lot.  Power is out in several areas of town and the lights were dimming at home when I left.  Schools are closed all around us.  My work place never closes so most of my team is here.  Hopefully, I'll be able to make it back home tonight.

And yes, it is May 2nd!

  • I could not hack it in in the north.   Winters are waaaayyy too long.

Stay safe!!  I hope you can get home and you keep your power on.
  • Yikes.  My cousin lives in Rochester and she posted a pic on FB.  Ugh.  I hope we're done with the snow.
  • well, it is Minnesota, and it's not August, so isn't this expected? ;-)
  • My parents left yesterday on their tour of the NW and my mother called to say they were going 25 mph in a snow storm.  Huzzah!

  • That's a lot of drama for one morning. Our weather is a bit cray cray today too. It's gone from mid 80's to mid 40's in less than 24 hours.

  • It's chilly here.  The weather report keeps going back and forth about whether we'll actually get snow tonight or not.

I rode in still this morning, but told DH if it was raining at 5, he was picking me up.

66 and sunny with a slight breeze.  The pollen count is about 11 billion though.
  • May snow doesn't happen very often here and if it does it's like an inch and melts right away.  2012-2013 winter has been very strange.  Everyone at work has a driving adventure story today!  Hopefully, we'll be back to 65 and sunny soon! (we had that last weekend).

Yet in southern Ontario, Canada is having gorgeous warm weather, and people are going around in shorts.  I've seen the crazy snow storms in May before, but even I think winter should be over, and I generally love winter.  Just not driving in it.  Hopefully sun comes soon!

  • It's not even noon and it's already 75 here.  I think it may get up to 80 or so.

Yeah, but shorts to them is probably scarf weather to a southerner.
  • Cloudy and 72 here. This is why I live in FL- very few extreme weather surprises (not counting hurricanes of course!)

I see that a bit with the Netherlands - it was just below freezing last winter and I was still wearing just a fall jacket, and everyone else was completely bundled up with huge scarves, hats, mitts, winter coats . . . I felt very Canadian.
