Wedding Woes

Morning

How was the weekend?  Nothing earth shattering here.  Yard work and house work and grocery shopping.  I have a TMI story, but will put it in another post so people can ignore easier.

So did anyone have an exciting weekend I can be jealous of?

Re: Morning

  • Nothing exciting here.  We brewed beer and hung out.  I worked on Saturday.  My IL's took the kids Saturday night, but we didn't go do anything because a) I was still not feeling very well and b) we spend to much money when we go out, so we're trying to rein it in since we have lots of stuff coming up this summer that we're going to need money for.
  • Nothing exciting here.  MIL called on Friday and offered to take all 3 kids for the weekend so DH and I could take advantage of the tail end of his vacation.

We rented a couple movies, went out to dinner, shopped a little.  He built me an awesome planter and then I got an itch to make a very simple one so he helped me with that.

It was a really nice, low-key weekend.

Looks like there must be a banned poster.  I see 3 responses and only see taw.

Taw- those planters are cute.  I can't wait for FIL to take kids again.
  • That's me. I keep logging in under the wrong e-mail address.

Anyhoo, my weekend was pretty uneventful.  I had to work Saturday.  I'm still trying to fight off this cold (it's starting to get better).  The kids went to the IL's Saturday night, but we didn't do anything.  I wasn't feeling well and we are trying to curb going out so much because we spend too much money and we have a lot of stuff coming up that requires money (trips, parties, events, etc).  We brewed some more beer yesterday.
  • I wouldn't look over on this end for weekend inspiration. It was not all that and it was just dreary weather all weekend. Which has still spilled over into this morning. Bleh.

  • Nothing from me.

I tried to find something for my Mom for Mother's Day, but I'm running out of ideas. I was supposed to meet a friend for happy hour but she flaked, so I went by myself. i really need to make new friends.

Saturday was our garage sale.  I made two sales and that was it.  I made $40 and they were big items that took up a lot of space, so I guess I can't be too terribly upset.
I also got a sunburn.  I'm so mad at myself about that.  I always wear sunblock - but I got totally distracted by the sale.   Also, why do garage sales have to start so early?  I am not a morning person.
Sunday we sent DD to church with grandma and went to see Iron Man 3.  It was good - - lots of fun and RDJ is great.  Then we met up with my mom and DD for lunch.
    That's about it for us.

Buffy and I had a kickin weekend together--and an extra day to it.

Thursday we got Dawg groomed, visited the library (for more llama llama books), and got a few chores done.  We also played out side a lot
Friday, Buffy went w/ me to give blood, then dropped in on the Lutheran Church rummage sale--she got some books and a fisher price doctor kit--so the remainder of the weekend was spent giving every stuffed animal a check up.

Saturday, I went to the mom-to-mom sale, then, after nap, Buffy and I met up w/ a friend and her kid (a former knottie :-P) and did the spring festival in our town--Buffy impressed the ladies at the antique shops by being all asquee over ceramic tea-sets--and being very good about repeating "we look with our eyes, we don't touch with our hands"
Sunday we did church and some nothing--which is always nice.

She was a wreck when I left today, tomake up for it though :)

also, the Mr. bought me a kurig as an early birthday present.  yay coffee!
  • Saturday was nice. We spent all day out in the City. Yesterday wasn't bad either.

DD has had me up since 3am. She's still getting over the upper respiratory ick she had last week. Cough and strider. Today was our last day of prednisone, but I see no difference in the cough. We might be back at the pediatrician this week.

Anyway, 3am the strider wakes her up. I go in and comfort her, she has trouble with the cough while laying down awake so I take her to the couch. She falls asleep sitting up and I start to move her to her crib. As soon as she hits the mattress she's in full blown hysterics. Back to the couch. She's crying so hard that I know she's going to throw up to I have a towel as her blanket. Sure enough, she pukes. Cries more. Then calms down. We spent the rest of the night awake. She dozed but I didn't.

This morning she was in full blown toddler tantrum mode. I wasn't sad to leave this morning. I was only sad to have to leave completely sleepless.
  • We had a pretty boring weekend.  Friday we went to a wine tasting, dinner and then home and vegged b/c IT WAS SNOWING.  Satuday was grocery shopping, went to the big art festival, took pictures for one of the performance groups (I"m not happy w/them, but I hope they will be.  Black shiny background and black pant/suits with crappy lighting), then hanging out with friends.  Sunday was just house cleaning and laundry.  No bike ride b/c the weather was just crappy.

It's still crappy this morning, DH brought me into work instead of riding.  It's the first day of Ride Your Bike to Work week, so I'm trey disappointed.
  • H came home (yay flags), and we just hung out on Friday.  Slept in on Saturday, I climbed on the treadmill and trotted out some fast miles.  It's funny because H said, "I think you can do it in x amount of time" so I thought "hell, I'm gonna try", damned if I didn't make his time, but I did it faster than usual, much faster.

Saturday was a movie, errands, I got a new running skirt.  I suppose if new clothes get me excited about it, it's worth the money.  Had lunch out, then dinner out too...or brought dinner back.  Relaxed with H.  It was nice having him around, just to see his pretty face.

Sunday H was helping his dad, I did some stuff around the house, dropped him off, ran again----hot and still fun.

Nothing terribly exciting.  More of this next weekend I'm sure.

Sounds like there were some highs this weekend.

V- I saw some of your pictures and thought they were pretty cool.
  • We had a lovely weekend- had dinner with friends on Friday and laughed our asses off.

Saturday was the bachelor/bachelorette parties and we all had a lot of fun. No one wanted to go out to the bars after the comedy show so I was in my own bed by 2am.

Sunday, we changed out the whole house filter (which is supposed to be done every three months, we're fairly certain it hadn't been changed in 7 years)- DH got sprayed by water and H20 was just everywhere.  It doesn't help that the water filter is in the back of our hall closet and we have a ton of crap in there- but that got organized too so winning!

  • Thanks, 6.  Those were my pics of just the stuff that I fell in love with around there that the artists would let me shoot (not a one of them said no, but thanked me for asking first).  The performers were just kind of meh.  Basically, since all the performers were white, black shiny background, black shirts and black slacks meant their faces were kind of blown.  I was able to adjust for some of it, but some shots that could've been really good, came out kind of meh.

Also, it's the Mens Chorus, so every time I say that they were kind of blown, I giggle to myself like a 12 year old boy.

Lots of Llama Llama love in this house.  DD still randomly likes to announce "Llama Llama HOLI-DRAMA!" now and then.

Also, my mom gave her a vet kit for Christmas and she still loves "treating" her lovies, so I predict Buffy will get a lot of mileage out of her doctor kit.

Also, I really wish she would get the hang of "look with our eyes, not with our hands."  She'll remember for three seconds and then be like "Ooooh, Mommy, look how pretty!  Is this glass?"  She takes after me, though--as a kid, my mom was constantly telling me to stop touching everything, and now as a grwon up I do it constantly.

Friday I decided DD and I would play hooky, so I asked her what she wanted to do, and she said have a picnic.  It wasn't perfect picnic weather, but not awful, so we made it work.  Took her to the botanic garden where DH and I were married and she was totally unimpressed by that, but facinated by the fountains (and the occasional bird crap).

Saturday was mostly errands, chores, etc.  DD had swim class and is really making a ton of progress now that she's moved up a level.  She and I had an awesome nap when we got home.

Sunday, we all schlepped up to Raleigh to the Museum of Natural Sciences so DD could see the dinosaur skeletons.  She did not sleep one second of the six hour round trip, so it was an early bedtime last night.  And we had a great time at the museum. In addition to the dinosaurs, they had one of those walk-through butterfly enclosure things that DD loved, and a really cool hands-on area that we almost had to drag DD out of. And fish, which she always loves.

I was sick, woke up with pinkeye, but our bakesale went really well, and we planned my grandma's memorial service. It helped she worte out her wishes for songs, etc.

    So, kind of a wash.
