Someone else reserve my beach access for ceremony

I rented a house to have my wedding reception at, and we are going to have the ceremony at the beach right across the street. 

I sent in my permit for that beach access and area, but they said someone else booked it!!! 

The beach is a public area, and I should still be able to have my wedding there, but what if someone else is setting up and having a wedding right at the same time and I have no permit, but they do? Ah!

This doesn't sound like it's going to end well.  I'd reconsider the plan.

Can you call to find out what time they have the area booked?  Or is it an all-day permit?

I agree with 6.  You need to come up with something else.  If you can't get a permit for that area, it's best to assume their wedding will conflict with yours.  There's too much planning and $ to take the chance.

You can always have the ceremony at the rental house.

what is the question? it seems like a pretty obvious issue you have, and it's also obvious that you should not just plan your ceremony without a permit. so what are you asking here?

Well, I am waiting to hear back from the county to see if we can get a permit for the next beach access over. Hopefully we can just move down the beach to the next access, and it's not a far walk, so shouldn't be too bad.
