please tell me this is normal!

I am 17 months out til my wedding, we have only booked our venue....about 2 days after booking the venue, I had anxiety! I am having nightmares that we will have too many guest and no room for people to sit. I am trying to reassure myself that everything will be fine, but it's not really working! FYI our guest list is at 250, venue is supposed to hold 300..in my head I am thinking the venue clearly only holds 200!

My advice is go to the venue some time next week and ask them to do a mock set up of 250 people. If it seems like it won't fit comfortably, see if you can get out of the contract. If that is not a possibility, see if you can cut your list by 20 guests. I do have to ask, why would you book a place that you don't think is going to be large enough.

No, I don't think this is normal.

You're a year and a half away.  To be having anxiety at this level is a little ridiculous.

The venue knows how many it can hold comfortably, they wouldn't still be in business if they were wrong.  If you're so worried, you might ask to peek in on a party that is close to your size.  Also, just b/c your list is at 250, doesn't mean your actual guest count will be 250.  But take care of it soon, b/c if you're breaking a contract, you might have some issues.

After that, calm down.  A year and a half is plenty of time to do every little thing ever.

I think the anxiety is more because I have never been to a wedding at the venue I booked, so I'm going into this knowing nothing but reviews I have read. The day we booked they did have a wedding set up for 230 people with plenty of room to spare.

I think you sound pretty intense and you're taking all this WAY too seriosly. Yes, weddings are important and wonderful, but making yourself sick with anxiety 1.5 years out is ridiculous. You'll be bed ridden by the actual wedding!
