Fashion halp

I'm wearing this dress for family pics:

I'm wearing these sandals:

I'm thinking about getting one of those shrunken cardigans to go over the dress.  Should I go with white or more of an oatmeal color?

Re: Fashion halp

  • I'd do white. I'm not a huge fan of off-whites with a bright color like that.

i actually think oatmeal or tan would be better, only because of the sandals.

what about a wrap/faux pashmina type thing? do you need the cardigan or wrap?

What are other people wearing?  My thing with the white is that it makes me think "little girl on Easter Sunday."

Also, I really like that dress and shoes.  Where are they from?

i think red jewelry would be better than anything white.

  • I'd do the oatmeal or tan for a cardigan look.

But I'd rather do a pashima like Wz suggested and get a great bright pattern with that.
  • Dress is from Old Navy and the sandals are from Target (Merona).

Other people are wearing blues and greens as well.  I'm worried about the white being too Easter-y too.  I just feel a cardigan would 'break-up' some of the green.  That's a lot of green.  But I may see if I have a wrap/pashmina in my closet that may work.

    Here's DefConn's outfit:

  • This is my whole family (sisters, BILs, nephew, parents) doing the pics.  We're doing it for my mom's Mother's Day gift.

Her request.  We're going to order and frame the prints she wants.

    red jewelry would look christmasy.

i would do a navy or deep blue and then bright yellow jewelry.

i think this would break up the green more than a cardigan would:

maybe coral or peach, not full on red. i thought ofd christmas, too, but that's not a dark green dress.
  • Hmm...I may have to make a trip to Charming Charlie to look for successories.
  • Walmart had cute little half cardi's in wicked colours I'm sure you could find something fun there..

I'm not wild about the shrunken cardigan look on someone with your body type.  I have one, and when I saw a picture of myself in it, I swore I'd never wear it again.
If you decide to do it despite my excellent advice, then please don't do white.
    What about a denim jacket?
Also, I want to go to Charming Charlie with you and help you succesorize.  LOVE that store.

I LOVE the denim jacket idea. i also agree about a cardigan not being the best choice for the same reason.

LOVE the denim jacket idea. i hope you do that.

6fsn - it's an accessories store that is huge and is organized by color.  There's one at Polaris by Barnes & Noble (outside area of the mall.)

OK.  I can see it now.  Denim jacket...And yellow sucessories....A  bib or chunky rope style necklace.  Maybe a bracelet too, if I roll the sleeves of the jacket up.

Thanks AF.  I'll have to check it out some day.

MrsC- I think that would be nice.  I believe ON has a few jacket options and still 30% off.

I have a similar dress in that color. I wear it with my denim jacket.  It looks fabulous. Cool
