My promotion was announced during the quarterly staff meeting today. What a way to put me on the spot. My heart sank though bc the girl who thought she was going to get it got all teared up. before announcing i got the position he announed she would be rejoining the department which she did not want to do, and she thought the new position was hers, no contest!! No one knew I was being considered except me and the doctors, even the office manager didnt know apparently.
25% pay increase. Mondays I will be driven by limo to/from Palm Springs (2 hrs away). Tuesdays I travel like I do now. Friday I work in the office, when my clinic is done I get to go home. Wed and thurs I help my old department and can work 9-2 if I want.
Came home and announced this to my kids. The only thing that affects them is on Mondays they have to be up 30 minutes earlier.
I asked if it'll affect my time off in June for the wedding and was told nope it'll be much easier for you now, just accommodate. I told him I'm taking 2 Fridays off but can change my clinic to the Thursday before I go, and he agreed. I just tell the other offices I travel to when I won't be there, and that's that!
