Out of town MOH needs help planning BS - recs please!!!

Hi,

I posted a few days ago about holding a co-ed bridal shower for my sister and her fiance, but the bridal party has decided against that and we're now planning to do a traditional bridal shower.  Since 4 of the 5 bridesmaids do NOT live in Pittsburgh, we thought choosing a restaurant would be the best solution (then we don't have to worry about food, drinks, plates, etc.).

Our budget is $500-600, we are inviting 28 women (so expect 20 or so) and in additional to needing private (or semi-private) space within the restaurant, I would love something with a view or something unique.  We're thinking of maybe holding the shower from 2-4pm so that we can get away with just serving some hors d'oeuvres and wine.

Someone on here recommended Heinz Field which I loved the idea of . . . and I haven't contacted them, but based on their web site, looks like it would be out of our price range.

Is there a good place in Mt. Washington (I figured that location would have good views)???

Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Meighan (MOH)

    Hi there!
I'm not going to be a whole lot of help, but there are a lot of wonderful restaurants on Mount Washington, though many are dinner only places.   I know a lot of ladies here recommend Le Mont-it has an amazing view of the city.  The Georgetowne Inn has a nice view and more reasonable prices-and a lunch menu.
There are also some great places in Station Square-you might try Buca di Beppo or The melting Pot.
Many ladies don't get on during the weekend, so you'll have many more responses come Monday,.

    hi!
we just had our wedding at the lemont, so it's obviously my #1 suggestion! however, there is also the shiloh inn, which is on the corner of shiloh street & grandview avenue (and they are open before dinner..i always see people out on the deck having drinks for lunch). there is also la tavola, which is where we had our rehearsal dinner. it is on the other side of the mtn, boggs ave. it's in a sketchy area, but that keeps ppl from finding out how fabulous it is! they are off the boat italians that run the place. our RD was amazing! they keep odd hours, but if you are trying to book an event they may be flexible. the restaurant was not due to open until dinner time on the day of our RD (which was NYE), but they allowed us to hold our event at 330pm without hesitation. la tavola is also BYOB, so if you are planning to have an open bar, it will save you $$ on alcohol.

there is also the grandview saloon, which is also fairly reasonable.

    good luck!

I had a unique tea party themed bridal shower at Sunnyledge Hotel in Shadyside. It was just tea sandwiches, and my bridesmaids bought cupcakes from Dozen for dessert.

Also, just last week we were just talking about Six Penn downtown, since they have a rooftop deck upstairs, that is great for parties. (My surprise engagement party was there). Not sure what time of year you are having the BS though.

    Good luck!

A friend of mine had a bridal shower at the Georgetowne Inn.  I couldn't make it, but I heard it was lovely and reasonable.

    Good luck!
