So Im getting married in 3 1/2 weeks and currently have no dress and Im freaking out!!!
I ordered my dress on Sept 23rd for my June 1st wedding. When I ordered it they told me I had plenty of time, no need to rush it, no concerns about the timing. I spoke to the bridal shop in late March and they told me my dress would be in on April 15th. I scheduled a fitting for yesterday (May 6th). I live 300 miles away from where I bought the dress (in my hometown) and thus had to make a weekend trip out of it for the fitting.
I got a call on Sunday at around 4 stating that they had to cancel my fitting (less than 24 hours beforehand) because my dress wasnt in. They knew I was coming from out of state and said they were calling in the hopes that I hadnt left yet! Its a 4 1/2 hour drive, obviously I was already in town. I was very calm on the phone, mostly cause I was in shock, and they told me that MK (the owner) would call me the next day to discuss everything.
So yesterday I was waiting for the call and by 1 I still hadnt heard anything. I was planning on driving back home (had to work at 7 this am) but didnt want to leave too early in the off chance that the dress may be in soon and maybe I could work something out and stay an extra day. So I stopped into the store at 1 and was told I had just missed MK. I asked the woman working if she had ANY info for me at all about when it might be in and she said she would check my file. She went in a back room and came back a few min later saying she had called but they were away at lunch and so she didnt know anything. I left after she assured me she would call as soon as she had any info.
3:30 comes and still no call, so I called the store. The same woman told me that she spoke to MK and she would be calling me as soon as she was back in the store.
FINALLY at 5:30 I ge4t a call from the store. Random employess tells me that MK got called away on a family emargency. She says my dress will eb in by Friday and possibly sooner. She does not know why the dress is not ther eyet but that they put in a rush order and it will be here soon.
I am LIVID. My wedding is in 25 days and I have no dress, no way to make it back up there for 2 fittings (which would require me to spend 10 hours driving and $100 in gas, and I would prob have to miss a day of work). I am already so busy trying to get everything together these last few weeks. I also cannot believe the total lack of customer service. The late notice of cancelling the appt and not giving me any info until after 5:00 is unacceptable to me.
This is mostly a vent but if anyone has any suggestions of my best course of action now I would love to hear them!
