Any advice for vintage reception location?

Hi everyone!
We are planning a wedding with a vintage theme, most likely during the off-season, and need help finding the perfect venue. Does anyone have suggestions on venues that could have vintage themes in Pittsburgh? There are approx. 250 guests and we want to keep the budget for the venue/food/alcohol below 15,000 (preferably 10-12,000). Any suggestions would be really appreciated!
Thank you for your help!!

I had my reception at Futules Harmar house in Harmarville. While it my not look vintage in photos, they have vintage props everywhere. When I first went and looked at the venue I really didn't have a "theme" yet. When I went back for a second time with my set "theme" I was completely excited with how well everything blended. HTH.

  • Hello,
After finding my venue my family is urging me to do a vintage theme! Try the Bigelow Conference and Reception Center. It is located in Oakland next to the 20th century club. It was used by the Historical society but now is used for weddings and events. It has an Italian Renaissance feel.. but to me that just mean gorgeous chandeliers and amazing marble floors and columns.

The other biiiig bonus: you can bring your own alchol. This was the best part!  Out of every place we looked... and we looked at alot, we liked this place the best AND they came in under budget for us. We are only having around 120 though. Laughing

They have a beautifullllllllll Grand Ballroom. I am getting married there in October.

How could you get more vintage than a classic ballroom in one of Pittsburgh's most beautiful historic landmarks?

  • I am having mine at The Grand Concourse - considering it is a historic landmark as an old trainstation with amazing architecture, I would definitely consider it "vintage friendly".  My wedding is much smaller, so we are only renting out the main dining room, but I think you can rent out the whole place.
