Venue help! Looking for cool, modern hotel

Hello!

So I've decided that I want a cocktail hour wedding with apps being passed around all night since I feel that a sit down dinner breaks up the dancing (and lets face it...a lottttt of wedding food is decent, at best). I wanted to have the wedding at a really cool, modern, place where we can just drink dance and munch appetizers all night so it doesn't break up the night too much with sitting down for three courses. But now I'm lost on where to look! If anyone has any helpful ideas on Venus I would be most gracious. Thanks so much!!!

The date is flexible, I'd prefer maybe next August,September, but I'm down to change that..

Thanks!

Re: Venue help! Looking for cool, modern hotel

  • If your looking for a hotel, try A Loft hotel in Mt. Laurel.  It is a modern hotel, not sure if they host weddings though.

I would also  advise you that having a cocktail style reception could end up costing you more than a traditional sit down dinner.  The caterer needs to prepare 15-20 types of little bites for hours, which will cost you more than having a sit down dinner, where they can make 2-3 entrees in bulk.
  • I also don't know if the Aloft does weddings, but we stayed there on our wedding night and that was the first place that came to mind. I know they have at least some sort of ballroom/dance floor; I went to see a band play there a few years ago.
