wedding dress for older bride

i am getting married next year for the third time, i know i have chosen the right man for me. but i am getting lots of advice about what i should not do, particularly with my wedding dress...my mother suggested that i wear a pant suit or something similar in ivory or champagne. My bridesmaids keep steering me towards simple tea length party dresses. i don't want a fairytale princess dress, but i do want to look special and gorgeous in a gown. i have been having a heck of a time finding a dress, looking for something classically sexy that is age appropriate. i think this dress may be the one but i am still a little nervous about it. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks so much.
it is a beading wedding dress, but will order it in light ivory. Is it suitable for me?? Has anyone else got a similar dress?? What about your wedding dress?Any pics if possible. This is the only thing i am fussing about.
Thanks ladys.xx

Re: wedding dress for older bride

  • I don't think you should worry too much! That gown looks lovely and I think as long as you feel comfortable in it, it will be fine! :) For her second marriage my mom wore a blush colored knee-length skirt, blouse, and jacket outfit and looked great, but I know that many women still prefer to wear something more "bridal" (ie white/ivory gown). Whatever you like.
  • I like it, and I wouldn't worry about how many times you've been married dictating the kind of dress you wear. It's still your wedding day, no matter how many of them you've had!
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

I get the feeling that OP may be a well hidden vendor.

  • I agree with the other posters. The dress you described sounds great and the idotaketwo.com website has been helpful to me.

As you are in Los Angeles, there is a store call Unique Vintage in Burbank, they have a website under the same name. they have a variety of dresses that are vintage looking and they also carry Alure Bridal for more traditional dresses, the ladies are very nice and helpful.

When I went there, most of the women trying on dresses were 'older'.

In the end, wear a dress that feels right for you. Good Luck
