Thank you cards for gift givers that were not invited???

We are very blessed to have people care so much about us that a few sent gifts that were not invited to the wedding.  Obvisously, I felt horrible that I wasn't able to invite them and now I'm not sure how to word the "thank you" note to them.  Please give suggestions.

Thank you!

Dear Aunt Jane and Uncle Steve,

Thank you for your gift of the __________. DH & I plan to use it for __________ and _________. We are grateful for your love and generousity as we start our married life.

    Love,

  • Jus word it as you normally would.  It sounds like they love you and they understand!
  • You shouldn't feel bad. My mom knew my college roommate well when we were in college (~7 years ago). I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. My mom wasn't invited and wasn't expected to be invited, it's not like she kept in touch with her personally. But she insisted on sending my old roommate a card and check for her wedding. Again, my mom wasn't perplexed or upset or anything that she wasn't invited, she was just really happy for her and wanted to do something nice
