We were supposed to get married in Vermont and then come back and have a reception the following weekend. We decided to cancel that because it was getting too crazy and expensive. People who were not invited to our small intimate ceremony were saying they were coming. Overall a stressful disaster.
We are now planning to do the ceremony on the same day as the reception (October 19th). We are not religious so churches are out.
The Aviary & Phipps are out because they are booked. I have also contacted soldiers & sailors in Oakland to find out if they will just do a ceremony.
Our reception is at the Double Tree down town so the closer to that the better. Has anyone had experience having a ceremony and reception at a hotel because I know the Double Tree does ceremonies too?
