hair real quick question

so... in my frantic frensy I looked on craiglist for a hair stylist. I got an email just now from an "April" who will do hair for $25 to $30 a person! She wants to do a trial run for me and then she can do everyone... that price is awesome! Should I do it? Just when I was fully convinced on going to a salon...

For that cheap, it's worth the trial run. If you don't like her, you haven't lost much.

Definitely ask for references and photos, though.

So you would be paying that much for the day-of, or just for the trial? Like C said, it's worth a shot. Do you know much about her? I am assuming she's a professional stylist...make sure she would bring someone else the day-of, if you feel you need 2 people to get everyone done on time.

I am late to weighing in for your first question, but I really enjoyed my salon experience.  There is so much going on at the house that day of, it was nice to get out and go somewhere, especially when she needed so much equipment (my mom's hair needed to be freshly washed to be blown "up" in teh back).  It was just nice to be able to come home to the makeup person being all set up, etc.  My wedding was the day after a holiday and they opened specially for me, and it worked out great.

But I agree, $30 for an updo is dirt cheap, and is worth a try! Having someone come to you may be easier, it;s really a toss up

personally, if you're willing to spend $30 on someone from craigs list you might as well spend $40 for monica since she's more well known. but that's just MO.
