Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh

I was booked on the wrong flight for venue visits!

I am so mad at myself!  I booked a flight to go home to Pittsburgh on Friday.  When I sent the itinerary to both my FI and parents (copied and pasted from the site to make sure it worked for everyone's schedules), it had the correct date (March 5-7).  When I received the email over the weekend, I noticed it was for March 12-14!!  I have a lot going on with work/planning, so ordinarily would think it was just my own silly mistake - but the fact that I copied and pasted the itinerary in emails, and it was correct, I really think it was Orbitz that somehow messed up.  Of course, convincing them of that is impossible, so I'm out an additional $315 for change fees/upcharge for new flight.  So frustrating!

Really, I am normally such an organized / orderly person, so the thought that this might have been my fault has me just kicking myself.  ARGH!

I just needed a second to vent as you ladies more than most understand the pressure of normal life + wedding planning!

I guess at least I realized today, and not Friday when I arrived to the airport and didn't have a seat!

How completely frustrating!  I understand that airlines have to have rules, but I think the amount of money they charge in change fees is outrageous.  Don't beat yourself up too much.  Like you said, wedding planning + normal life = occasional stress.  Hope everything is worked out for you now!

Ugh, that is really crappy of them. I'd still try to fight it, or at least place a complaint. Do you have appointments with the venues this weekend, and if so, could you move them to next weekend? I hope you get everything straightened out soon! It is so frustrating planning from OOT sometimes, but I promise, it all somehow works out in the end.

That really stinks!  When you were looking to rearrange your flights did you just talk to Orbitz or did you try the actual airline too after that didn't work w/ Orbitz?  The reason I ask is b/c I once had the opportunity to move my flight up a day or two and I just went to the airport directly and they only charged me $50 or $75 - I can't remember which but over $300 seems to be a lot!  Good luck and I'm sorry you have to deal with this stress!

ugh - how frustrating! I'm so surprised they won't do anything for you! You have PROOF (through email) that the dates that you booked were correct! That is so annoying! So sorry! :(

Ugh, that seriously sucks.  Some airlines' change fees are just exorbitant.  Did Orbitz send you any kind of confirmation with the original flight into on it, or was it messed up from the beginning?

It was wrong on the email I sent, but correct when I copied and pasted from the website confirmation.

FI is in NYC this week for work, so its easier for him to fly in this weekend rather than buy a whole new ticket for next, otherwise I would completely wait until next week.

Thanks for the support though!  I was so frustrated, but FI made me feel better about it.  I also am definitely going to do a letter campaign to all of the depts. that I can find on Orbitz - in my work experience, any type of letter that gets to an officer of the company gets noticed.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.
