hand fasting ???

so my FI is Irish and i would like to contribute some traditions in the wedding ceremony. does anyone know who maybe will be a offiant and do the hand fasting ceremony?

Re: hand fasting ???

  • I think a lot of girls have had success with Love Notes for finding officiants, so you might try them first.  They should have someone who knows how to do a hand-fasting.

Alternatively, you guys could personalize the ceremony a little and do it yourselves.  DH was best man for a couple who tied themselves together using some complicated rock climbing knot.  They did all the work, the minister just explained to the guests what they were doing.  It was very sweet.

  • Our officiant is Ari Gray from Alternative Wedding Services, and one the possible ceremonies she provided for us includes hand fasting.  She also mentioned it during our consultation with her.

  • I officiate weddings and I did a hand fasting as well as the Irish handkerchief blessing. The daughter is one of my best friend's children and she asked that I would please put it in for her and her then fiance since he is Irish. It was a beautiful part of the wedding. She said that was her favorite part. :)
  •  well our friend is going to officiate our wedding, and we decided to go with the set in stone ceremony its still irish and FI likes it better!
  • I second Ari Gray with Alternative Wedding Services!  She is officiating our wedding and we are including a handfasting as well. Not only is she super sweet, but she has a vast knowledge of many different marriage traditions and she is great at helping you create your ceremony so it's meaningful to you and your fiance.
