Wedding band metal type for Him

Hi!
  I am debating between which type of metal to use for my fiance's wedding band. Titanium vs. Platinum. Titanium is cheaper and I have read that it won't show scratches as much but I am concerned about quality and sizing. I am not sure what size he is and would like the option to have it sized. We are also on a budget but I also feel as though this is something special and meaningful therefore splurging or paying a bit more for something with quality is fine. Any suggestions, comments, or experiences? Thanks!

Most of the atraditional metals, such as titanium, either cannot be sized at all or have very limited sizeability.  Platinum is more difficult to size than gold, and depending on the thickness of the band also may not be able to be sized.  My platinum engagement ring has been resized, but a male friend at work has a platinum wedding band he has been told cannot be resized.  I originally wanted my fiancee to wear a platinum band to match mine, but we're going with white gold for him so he can easily have the band sized in the future, if need be.

What does your FI want? He should be picking out his wedding band with you. If he goes to the store they can put a ring sizer on him to see what size he is.

My FI is going with either white gold or platinum. I've heard the same thing about titanium being difficult to resize.

Ditto. He should pick his own band.

FWIW, my DH's band is white gold. He wanted the ring to be able to be easily cut off in case of accident/injury. This is a concern for a lot of men, so definitely take your FI and talk to a jeweler.

Thank you all! He ultimately didn't care. He was happy with either but he didn't want white gold. I think we need to visit a jeweler and see what would be best as well as what size he is. Thank you!!

Titanium cannot be sized, it must be ordered. Platinum can be sized if its not too thick or if it does not have a design on it that goes all the way around. My FI ring is cobalt. It cannot be sized but my jewelry store offers a plan for reordering if he needs a different size.
