My mothers veil

I am wearing my mother's veil on my wedding day. However, it is ivory and I wanted a white dress. Most likely an ivory veil with a white dress will look dirty or old. Can I get the veil dyed or bleached white?? I tried googling it but can't find the answer anywhere - most hits come up with making a white veil - ivory.

Thanks!

No, you really can't. Your mom's veil is likely polyester or another synthetic material that won't take kindly to bleach.

Take the veil to your dress shopping trips.

If the color mismatch really bothers you, consider detaching the veil from its comb and using the material to wrap around your bouquet.

I'm guessing it is sort of a butter cream yellow color, correct? There are hardly any white wedding dresses now days. Almost everything is considered ivory, but that doesn't mean the veil will match. Do bring the veil with you and try not to match the color, but instead the tone. Another option would be to take some detailing from the veil, if it has any, and apply it to a new veil, or use it elsewhere as @Itzms suggested.

  • Thanks SBmini! I do want to wear it, so I will try to factor it in another way.... and yes - it is a butter cream yellow.
