hmm... let's see.  Project I'm working on now: invitations and dealing with a crazy BM (not Flawnya! lol).
recent check... um- none really, my last check was picking out tuxes but that was a month ago.
major project: def invites, I feel like once those are done, everything will become a ton easier

Let's see in the last 2 weeks we've met with the pastor, picked a time for the ceremony, I got my E-ring resized (since winter made it too big!), got my last BM fitted for her dress, finished tying ribbon on the bubbles, and FI picked one more GM.
The major things we need now is to sit down with the reception place for a taste testing, find transportation, register at our second place, and plan the honeymoon (which I am currently doing between 3 TA's-tryign to get the best price), oh and FI needs to pick 2 more GM.
Some days I feel like I have so much done (all the big vendors) and others I feel like I'll NEVER be finished!

    Great post Jen!

Recent Projects: Hotel room blocks, invitations and inserts, choosing a limo (or limo bus)

Recent Checks: was gifted Vera Wang/Wedgewood Toasting flutes!

Additional Checks: Selected all but one bridesmaid dress.  All the girls are wearing different dresses from AA, purchased crinoline/slip for wedding dress.

Major headachs/stresses: Decision to buy a house or rent, when to book our honeymoon (for best prices), and wedding bands.

Yay, I love finding out what everyone else is up to :)  Meg, those toasting flutes are lovely!

Recent checks: started meeting with the both the priest and pastor, plan to start registering this weekend, starting dance lessons, sent out STDs, picked out faves of engagement pics and bought the rights, scheduled pre cana for next weekend

Really need to get going on: invitations, ceremony musicians, and transportation.  I also need to find my reception dress.  I really slacked off this fall while I was busy with other stuff and now it's almost the six month mark, eee!

Also looming: I need to book the date for our food and cake tasting and plan a trip home around it.  I need to find someone to do my hair on the wedding day, and we need to get our wedding bands.  FI has to buy his tux, and we need to choose one for the GMs.  As soon as I make a decision about grad school, we realllllly need to book our honeymoon too.

The things I struggled the most with were the guest list and HM. I just couldn't decide if I should invite people from my church, b/c then that would end up being a lot more people. I know I should have invited some though, but at least a few came to the ceremony (on their own accord). It was really difficult to estimate how much of the guest list would actually show up (we had a lot less people than I thought we would).

As for the HM, we didn't book one until 2 months before. We didn't know if DH would have a job and be able to go away for a week, and I barely had the vacation time, so everything was up in the air. But we actually ended up getting the best deal for our cruise by booking rather last minute.

Btw, those toasting flutes are lovely, Meg!

My invitations were definitely my toughest project. I DIY'ed pocketfold invitations w/ 4 inserts and a monogrammed band closure. They were a huuuge PITA and took forever, but making them is one of my favorite wedding planning memories, so I guess it was worth it :)

I also have to chime in and say that I love those flutes, Meg. Soo purty!

    Yea! Fun stuff!

Recent checks- Well the DJ was a very relieving check. Also getting the STDs finalized felt good.

Really need to get going- Addressing the dang STDs. I want them out next week. And they aren't going to do them on their own. Think about Thinking about favors. I was in love with an idea that turned out to be WAY more than I wanted to spend.

Looming things that if I don't jump on it could become issues-
The dang rehearsal dinner guest list. It's getting out of control. Also we have not thought once about what we want the cake to look like, and I haven't looked at the menu in a while. Oh bother..

    I'll play!

Recent checks:  Found a priest (we don't live in Pittsburgh anymore and I am from Harrisburg so it was a little difficult), sent out STDs, picked up the bridesmaid dresses, my mom found a MOB dress, and order and received engagement pictures!

Still working on:  We are looking to do a pre-cana retreat weekend and have to figure out the right weekend around my work schedule, finalizing the menu and linens, trying to finalize our HM itinerary with the TA

It seems like even though the major things are done there is constantly so much more to do, ugh!

    PS Those flute are beautiful!

Hi ladies!! Sorry, I've been pretty busy at work :( and I'll be away from Thursday to Monday morning so I thought I'd get in a post before I leave tonight! Also,  I LOVE hearing what everyone is up to!

My wedding isn't until May 2011 but I think I'm moving along quite well!!

My recent checks for me include booking the venue (Carnegie Museum Music Hall Foyer), the photographer, the videographer, the DJ, I spoke with my priest and we're getting the ball rolling on arrangements for our pre cana classes here in Philly and he's holding our date for us, I BOUGHT my dress :), picked out BM dresses... hmmm lets see - I think that's about it for now!!

Also, FI and I are going to Disney where we met (leaving tonight! yay!) for our E-pics on Friday!! I'm so excited! Once we get those I'm going to start designing the STD's and start to put together a guest list!!

After we get back, I'm going to call a few florists and see if I can meet with them to get some pricing and hopefully get that nailed down!! But I'm having a blast planning!!

Hi G, glad you posted :)  Have so much fun in Disney!  Can't wait to see your engagement pics, that sounds awesome.

Also- I love love love your venue.  The Carnegie Museums were one of my top choices too, though they were sadly booked by the time we started planning.  The Music Hall is SO beautiful!

Last checks:  Met with the priest to fill out the wedding papers , scheduled our marriage classes, bought some stuff for my craft projects and bought pashmina scarfs for the bridesmaids.

Currently working on:  invites, pew decorations, letters for cookie table.

I am only a little over the 3 month mark.  I got to get on top of things.

So glad we have the rings bought and the honeymoon is booked.  The price of what we have booked has gone up so much!
