Number of guests attending

For my cousins weddings, when I RSVP do I count the baby as a guest.  She 5 months old, will be 6 mo at the time of the wedding.  She wont be eating food or taking up a seat so would we count her? Would it be inappropriate to reply 2 + baby.   I know she is invited, it was addressed to the family.

Re: Number of guests attending

  • Do you not want a seat for her carrier for the reception? I would just write a note thanking for including baby and that she doesn't need any food and she does/doesn't need a seat.
  • Yes, put all 3 of you. You surely will also want a chair to put the diaper bag or other things on, even if you are holding her on your lap.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I would RSVP three but specific if you want a seat/don't want a seat for her.
  • I would just RSVP for 3. Most reception sites ask for the number of children in certain age groups so they can better figure out servings. A 6 month old (in my experience) has never been a guest one has to pay for the meal for.

That sounds perfect. Although the baby won't be eating food, they may need to make other accommodations for the baby.

Thanks for the help. I ended up replying 2 + baby. I ended up running in to her ( which is weird because she live two hours away) she was picking up BM dresses while I was taking my first peek at wedding dresses. She said she got a mix of people counting baby or not. But since 4 of us cousin have babies within a couple months as each other she was planning on sittin us together with some open space for strollers and carseat slings. She said normally tables seat 12 so ours would have less people. So much detail goes into weddings it's insane.
