Groomsmen Boutonnieres

I'm not a fan of traditional boutonnieres and hate spending money on something I don't even like.  I'm considering doing fun pocket squares for the guys to give them some style, instead.  Or is this not festive enough?  Thoughts?

I think it's completely fine and that boutonnieres are unnecessary!

Sounds fine. Wearing a pocket square is pretty "fashion-forward" for some...so just make sure the guys are okay with it.

Besides groomsmen...some dads and grandpas really like to get those traditional bouts to wear...so make sure to communicate with them, too.

I like that idea. We opted out of the pocket square for the bout, because it would look too busy. So I don't see why you can't do just the pocket square instead of the bout, not to mention it will probably be cheaper. :)

Our original plan was to do pocket squares instead of bouts, and then we ended up not doing either. The guys had plain vests (no jackets) with coloured ties and they looked just fine.
  • We're skipping the bouts in favor of pocket squares.  Both FI and I preferred this and it was slightly cheaper.
