So I'm invited to a quince and the invitation says 230 and at so so.church
dinner/reception immediately following at
Blah blah hall
At 6
I fb messaged to see which one it is so I can plan accordingly. In reply the host said" caravan and photography is immediately after dinner reception starts at 6. I'm really confus.ed. What does that mean?

Re: nwr..im confused on an invitation.

  • So guests aren't included in the caravan and photography?
  • I don't think they are. You can stick around to confirm, but I highly doubt it. It just sounds like you have a four hour gap.

Well church is an hour. So from 3:30 -6 is it appropriate to pre game at a local bar? I'm not sure what else to.do.

The mass for a Quince is probably around 90 minutes (if it's Catholic...which is likely). So it's technically a two hour gap....but still.

It sucks, but no, the guests aren't supposed to caravan with the young lady and her court to the park or wherever for pictures.

  • So im confused on why she gave me that answer instead of just saying reception starts at 6.
  • Whoa an hour? Mine was 15-30 minutes. I don't remember (it was 6 years ago).

I don't think people really care what they're guests do in the time between. I went to one with a similar gap and we went to McDonald's with a bunch of other guests. Then we hung around. Some people even went home and then showed up 30 minutes before dinner started.

  • Uhg. It's a gap. Go home and take a nap or drink. Those are basically your only options, unless you skip the mass.
  • OK good Im making a list is things to do since I'm an out of town guest on my vacation. A gap is good for me I'll make it work.
