Edgeworth Club....also is anyone having trouble feeling that wow feeling during a venue tour!

Does anyone know any tricks with getting in touch with the wedding coordinator at Edgeworth? The place is gorgeous and I would love more information, such as pricing about it.  However, I have emailed, called, and left voicemails.  Does he ever reply back?  I have visited 2 venues so far, the YCC and Riverside Landings and I am not in love with any of them.  I want to have my ceremony and reception in the same place, but nothing makes me feel like I wanna run down the aisle yet.  Does anyone else have that problem?  Or am I just alittle bit on the crazy side.

  • Is there another number there you could call? Maybe the person in charge on answering e-mails and calls is unavailable at the time.

  • I never heard back from anyone at Edgeworth either after two attempts. If they are hard to get ahold of now, you definately don't want the stress of dealing with them later!

  • I was recently able to talk to someone via email who had her wedding at Edgeworth thanks to a friend at work.  She said it took awhile for her to get in to contact with someone and that he isn't a great communicator but he does a magnificent job.  She was even kind enough to give me information on their fees and what she had spent.  The only downfall was the consumption bar. I am hoping that if I bug him enough he will finally answer because I think it is a gorgeous place. If I ever get a hold of him I will let everyone know! I keep visiting reception sites in the meantime.
  • My fiance and I toured the Edgeworth Club a few months ago for our August 2013 wedding.  Unfortunately, I also had an issue contacting them initially.  I had sent 2 emails and called twice over 6 weeks and never got a response.  When I (finally) got in touch with Jason Ciccone (the assistant clubhouse manager) he was super apologetic and wasn't sure why he did get my emails or calls. Anyway -- he gave me his card while we were there, so feel free to PM me and I'll shoot you the contact info on his card.

Anyway, as for the venue itself -- it's absolutely beautiful! The pictures they have online are actually pretty accurate.  I'd definately encourage a visit.  It was on our short list, but we decided to go with the Outdoor Garden Space at Phipps, for various reasons.  But, I do have a ton of information re: Edgeworth Club pricing so feel free to PM me and I'll give you the info I have so you can decide if it fits your budget/needs before making the trip.

Just a few things my fiance and I thought about when considering Edgeworth: (somewhat unsolicited feedback, but these are things I would've liked to know about venue options before making the trip :-) )

    PROS:
    - It's a country club so they do it ALL -- food, drinks, tables, linens, etc -- no rentals necessary (they also have Chivari chairs which come standard... just something silly that I was kinda picky about).
    -  The outside of the building is gorgeous old stonework and looks super classic and the inside has been recently renovated so it's all up to date.  Bonus:  The renovations are really classy and kept the classic look of the ballroom, etc intact.
    -  They can do cocktail hour inside or outside (the outside has firepits!)

    CONS:
    -  It's a country club so, depending on when your event starts, there may still be members (read: kids) running around outside, swimming in the pool.  But, the management is up-front about this and it certainly didn't seem like a deal breaker, just something to be aware of.
    -  Because the club is private, the management really needs please the board members, so any special requests need to get the "ok" of all the board members.  This likely means that there's very little room for negotation :-/
    -  No parking on site -- Your guests will either need to find on-street parking or you'll have to hire valet.
    -  The bar is charged by consumption -- this was our biggest "con."  With a big irish family, a charge by consumption bar scared me.  However, there's something to be said for "you only pay for what you use."  Anyway, Jason was able to give me what I thought was an honest ballpark for per-person bar cost and that cost wasn't outragious, but it wasn't cheap either.

I hope this was helpful!  Feel free to contact me for more info :-)
