Weird setup at reception...need advice

Since I have received some pretty good advice from people on her I am going to ask for some more advice! My fiancé and I have finally picked our reception spot (YAY!) and there are 4 LCD tvs on the walls about 47" or bigger. We weren't planning on using them for anything but since they are there we were trying to come up with ideas on how we could use them. A couple ideas we were tossing around were our logo for the wedding (our initials in a unique design) on the screen now overly big so we didn't draw attention away from the other guests at the table or pictures from our engagement party. We don't want anything too distracting or bright. We are open to suggestions on something to do during dinner and something else during dancing and drinks or the same thing for both. We might not use the tvs at all but we'd just like some suggestions to see if it might make the space look different. Thank you!!

Oh, we aren't big on having our baby pictures or us growing up or anything like that.

  • I probably wouldn't end up using them but here are some ideas that popped into my head (disclaimer: I have no idea if they're good ones lol)

Music videos of the songs playing during the dancing portion (if your DJ could swing this)

    Pictures of the ceremony

Your engagement pictures on the screen instead

Your wedding logo as you suggested (would be similar to a gobo I'd think)

After 6 years and 2 boys, finally tying the knot on October 27th, 2013!

  • I think pictures of any form would be distracting on screens that large.  Either do the logo or have them turned off.
  • I really like the idea of the logo. It's silent, still, and wouldn't be distracting. Engagement photos (like 4 different ones on each TV, not moving, but 4 on the screen at the same time) aren't a bad idea but I would hate staring at photos of myself all day. I think your initials would look better than a black screen.
  • I think having giant photos of yourself on the walls could look a little AWish. The logo idea isn't bad, but I'd probably just have them turned on and maybe covered with tulle or something myself.

  • I wouldn't use them.
  • I wouldn't use them either.
  • We wouldn't pictures of ourselves of the tvs, we'd have pictures of our (with their permission) and we wouldn't be filling up the entire screen with the pictures. We hadn't really planned on using them. We might just use the logo if we can do it write and it isn't took distracting. Thanks for the ideas!

  • I don't think it'd be bad to use the TVs for any one of those reasons FOR A SHORT TIME.  I wouldn't want them on all night, even if just a logo.  That to me would just feel like I was at a corporate event or something.

I wouldn't mind, however, a cutesy slideshow or a logo, or anything like that just for a short time during cocktail hour or something.

  • I guess it depends on the feel of your reception. Personally, I would not use them. If you do, I'd do your logo w/ a black background to make it less imposing.

  • I would skip it.
  • I would also skip it.

  • IF I'd use them, I'd do music videos. That way people wouldn't be distracted by them. I would also only do it during the dancing portion not cocktail or dinner.

  • In the stadium we got married in there were TVs everywhere.  Above the bar, over in the lounge seating area, random places on the wall, etc.  We could have used them but we didn't.  We just didn't really feel the need.  Since we didn't use them the faded into the background and weren't even noticeable.  I would just skip using the TVs completely.  I find that when you have big pictures of you all over the place or big logos of your initials projected it all just comes off as AWish.
