Need Your Ladies' Input

So ladies, if you were attending a wedding at 6pm knowing there would be a cocktail hr following, and therefore dinner not being until 7  or 7 15 or so, would you eat beforehand?

Re: Need Your Ladies' Input

  • I'd have a snack around 4 pm before I went.  Some cheese and cracker or something similar.
  • I would probably eat a snack on the way to the ceremony.  But I like eating earlier then others so I would be starving by 7pm if I didn't eat anything.

  • I'd have to have a snack beforehand.
  • Probably not. I don't usually eat until 7 anyway. I think it depends on your normal schedule.

Always. I get cranky if I'm hungry, and weddings are notoriously delayed in serving food and can sometimes be smaller portions than I prefer.
  • I'd probably plan to have a late lunch.

  • It wouldn't bother me because we tend to eat dinner later than that in general.  However, I would think that most people would probably want to snack on something beforehand or do a late lunch.  That doesn't seem like an unreasonable time to be serving dinner though.
  • Thanks for the in put ladies! I met with my caterer last night and we were thowing the idea of doing lighter dinner foods as opposed to a heartier meal and was just looking for a general consensus.I will probably do a heartier meal and if people don't eat..then so be it..more turkey for ME! :D

  • I usually eat between 5:00 and 5:30 and would be ravenous by 7:00.  So yes, I would eat a little something before the ceremony.

  • no  im used to eating dinner way later than that
  • I usually eat dinner between 8 and 9 PM, so I'd typically have a snack around 4 or 5 PM anyways. I can't imagine most people would eat dinner before a 6PM wedding.
