WANTED SIMPLE (YET ELEGANT) MOTHER OF THE BRIDE DRESS IN CONNECTICUT!

My Mom is looking for her Mother of the Bride dress for my wedding in April, 2014.  She has simple but elegant taste and if finding that most of the Mother of the Bride Dresses in traditional bridal shops are a little "too much" for her. She is thinking about going to a boutique, but is unfamiliar with dress shops in Connecticut. Does anyone have any suggestions for dress shops in Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, or Hartford counties?

Post on your local board. 

Otherwise, check out department stores for nice dresses/gowns. Or get a quote from a seamstress to see how much a custom-made gown would cost.

I will just say that the MOB dresses I have seen in David's look to be made out of extremely poor quality fabrics.  You can find nicer dresses at the same price point at department stores like Macy's or Lord & Taylor.  I know both of those stores have locations in CT.  If the MOB has a higher budget, check out the evening wear dept at Saks or Neiman Marcus.  Many beautiful dresses appropriate for MOB that don't scream "MOB."
