So we got married August 31st, took a two and a half week honeymoon, moved three states into our first house, and I started my new job! It's been a wonderful! Anyways the wedding went perfectly!
Things I was worried about: my two youngest bridesmaids, weather, my monster-in-law, and setting up the reception. My two younger bridesmaids because they had no focus and no idea what they were doing (and frankly didn't care) but my other bridesmaids stepped up and kept them in line! As a result everyone was ready on time for pictures!! It sprinkled a bit the morning of but it was warm and overcast by the of our outdoor ceremony. Our first look and pictures before the wedding where so fun! H was so excited that he kept cracking jokes and making me laugh which helped calm my nerves! My monster-in-law (she has earned that title a hundred times over by now) was another person I was really worried about messing things up. She just nagged H the month leading up to the wedding saying things to the tune of the wedding shouldn't happen because she decided she doesn't like me. That is sugar coating it but she's nice to my face at least after H finally put a stop to it. Anyways, H has a special needs friend who easily gets confused/upset and so MIL took it upon herself to be his guide the whole day. That worked out perfectly!!
Our venue had another wedding that morning so we weren't able to get into our venue till an hour before our ceremony. So I'd more or less trained all my bridesmaids on how to set up our centerpieces, favors, guest table, and other decorations. The plan was that they would take my car down the mountain after we finished wedding party pictures and they'd set up while we took our bride and groom pictures! It went perfectly... till we realized that we'd forgotten to take bride and bridesmaid's pictures. Opps! Well they smuggled me across the venue's parking lot and we took the pictures. Not as many as I would have liked but it was 15min before the ceremony. I honestly thought it was hilarious. I blame it on the nerves. They did an excellent job of setting up!
Things went so perfectly that there where even some extras that I'd not planned! During the ceremony we had an unexpected guest! While we were saying our vows a humming bird decided to fly around us a few times! The photographer didn't get a good picture of the little guy but it was still very cool! My hairdresser who I consider a good friend by now did my hair and she did such a detailed wonderful job that it still looked gorgeous the next day. It was seriously my dream hair style. As I said above two of my bridesmaids really stepped up! My monster-in-law led the brigade that trashed my car. They saran wrapped all the doors shut, topped that off with packing tape, streamers, balloons, painters tape, oreos, toilet paper, and of course tied cans to my bumper. My two awesome BMs went out and took it all off (except the "Just Married" and the cans). They did this without me asking them!! They're great friends. The food was amazing as well; we're still getting compliments on it.
