Need center piece ideas, but no glass

The venue where I will be having my reception is on the beach, so no glass whatsoever is allowed.  This really seems to limit my ideas for a centerpiece. Any ideas sans glass?

    We used  plastic kid sand buckets for our beach wedding.

    Galvanized buckets

    Plastic vases

    wooden boats

    ETA - Conch shells






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    One beach wedding that I attended had sand pailsfilled with sans and pinwheels in the bridal party colors.  The pinwheels were turning in the breeze and very pretty.

    Clay pots?  Ours isn't a beach wedding, so this may not be helpful, but we ordered baskets and filled those with silk flowers.

    You could look for clear plastic containers/vases and use LED candles with maybe some sea shells or sand.

    By googling, found these plastic votive molds that are actually meant to be used for melted wax to make votive candles: http://www.cierracandles.com/plastic-votive-molds.html . You could cover them in vellum printed with, or stamped with, your wedding colors and use LED votives (the vellum hides the fact they are not real candles)

    I also like the idea of galvanized (or even colored) tins, you could put flowers in them. I was just at Christmas Tree Shop yesterday and they have a lot of beachy tabletop decor.

    You could make the yarn/string balls with glue, don't have a link but apparently you blow up a round balloon, use string coated in glue to make a free-form design around it then pop the balloon. You could put LED votives in that.

    how about metal lanterns with candles.  all you would have to do is take the glass sides out.  you can put them on sand and surround them with seashells or candles.  i think the pails is cute and goes with the theme but if you want a more formal theme then i wouldn't go with sandpails.
