In regards to the OP topic (wtf I was gone for an hour and 7pages!): I'm a lurker, but the wording in that thread put a fire under my azz. I definitely toned down the response from what I really wanted to say. IMO, the posters weren't rude - they were setting the OP straight. The OP is the one that came off as rude. What kind of people would we be if we let OP think it's okay to judge someone based on their age? IMO, we were doing her a service.

To a PP's point, if she had acknowledged her poor wording early in the thread, it likely would have taken a different route.

</div><div>I wouldn't say that everything they post goes along with this, but I frequently see threads getting skewed into a joke and turn into a place for the "regulars" on the etiquette board to pass time. In addition, I would say that sometimes there actually are grey lines in etiquette.. not everything is as black and white as they say it should be and not every wedding has to follow the rules they lay down.. and doing things that fall in the grey area don't automatically make you rude or mean you have poor manners.
Just trying to be the voice of reason, I grew up reading Miss Manners cause my mom was pretty into proper etiquette and even I shake my head at some of the stuff I see the girls here say.</div>

Geeze, you want a bunch of mean girls, I'd say meander over to the PS board. I can't believe all that ish went down and now DJ's stepped down. For a group of women that "just want to be accepted" or "have a place they feel comfortable" they sure are stingy with rolling out the red carpet.
