30 Day Shred People- equipment?

What do you need for the video?  Do I need weights?  If so, what size would you recommend?

3lb weights... and a mat if you're working on a hard surface.. My den is carpeted so I don't use one.

FYI, I used 5 lb weights on Day 1 and it wasn't working AT ALL. I think Jillian's are 3 lbs in the DVD...

Yeah, I only have 8 lb hand weights... so I was very sore the next day.  I need to go buy a lighter weight.

What if I am a big sissy with no upper body strength?  Still 3lb?

If you do not normally lift weights, it can be difficult at first.  Start with small weights so you can do everything.

If it's too heavy just grab something like two cans of soup, two water bottles, or even just do the motions without weights.

8 lbs?! Holy hell... I would seriously. be. dead.

I am a sissy with no upper body strength... 3 lbs is okay. I ended up having to run to Target and buy mine because all I had were the 5's. Also, just FYI, there was a day or two in there before I bought my 3 lb'ers and I actually used full 750 ml water bottles, just to have some kind of weight.. Maybe something worth trying if you're scared of 3lbs on Day 1?

ETA - Yea, like they said!

I might give the water bottles a shot.  Unless they have cute ones at Target.

Thanks ladies! I'm going to give it a try through On Demand.

oh my gosh, I just got done doing the 30 day shred and OH MY GOSH, it sure is a workout.  Even though I just started, I think I can definitely say I'm gonna get my money's worth!  Only have done it once and it's already kicked my butt!

Question though- do you ladies just do this?  Or pair it up with some running the treadmill?  I was thinking of pairing it up with some running...
