MB hotel front desk-D

We had a lot of issues with the front desk and their custom service. We had a few different rooms and checking into the others rooms was such a pain in the ass! They ended up crediting us money when we checked out so that's the only reason they get a D instead of an F. There were a few people willing to help but management was awful.  It got to the point that the day before my wedding I wanted to cancel it all and go to a different hotel and get married. We had about 25 guests or more stay there too and lots of people had issues.

Harmony- A++++++

I'm a hair dresser myself so picking someone was tough until I spoke with Harmony. I knew pretty quickly that she was the best choice for me.

We had a consolation when I arrived on Wednesday. I showed her a picture of my MOH wedding that I was in last year to show her what I didn't want. Then I had a few pictures of hair styles that I was going for. She did exactly what I wanted. On the wedding day she did my MOH, myself, and 2 bridesmaid hair and airbrush makeup. Everyone looked amazing!! My hair and makeup were fabulous! It really made my day so much more because I loved my hair so much! I can't say enough good thing about her. I told her next time I come to Vegas we are hanging out or if she ever comes to Boston to let me know. By far one of my favorite vendors!

Andrea-Day of coordinator- LTevention-A+

I decided to get my own DOC because I hired all my own vendors. MB makes a point that they will not be responsible for outside vendors. Andrea was great she did all the things I couldn't do while getting ready for the wedding. She was a life saver and helped keep my stress level down so defiantly worth it!

Pam at The Palette- I got my bridal bouquet and all of my centerpieces from her. My bouquet wasn't the colors I was expecting but was still beautiful. The center prices were gorgeous! They really added to the decor of the reception. I was so sad to leave them in my hotel when I left 2 days later. She also gave me a box of rose petals for my card box table, head table, cake table and guest book table.

MB wedding chapel- A-VotF

My wedding coordinator was Jaimie. She was always such a pleasure to work with thought out the whole process. We had the ceremony at the Valley of the Falls and the space is gorgeous! I was worried that spending the extra money wouldn't pay off but it didn't disappoint. A lot of my guests said it was the most beautiful ceremony  spot they had ever seen. It really was perfect for us. I also got my bridesmaids bouquets from the florist at MB and they were beautiful! I did get hydrangeas though and it was way to hot for them. Most of them were all completely dead by the time the reception was over, including mine that was from Pam.

Cashman Photography-B

I of course was not expecting anything special because of previous reviews. So I was presently  surprised with some of the photos. Theirs prices are ridiculous so I just picked out 20 that were included in my package. But we did ended up getting some extras and spend about $400 which I didn’t want to do originally. We got a dvd with a photo montage and I couldn't leave behind the enhanced photos that they set up in the office on the day of the appointment. But I was not paying the price they wanted for the rights to only 70 pictures. The photographer got some great shots but also got some that weren't so great. So it wasn’t to hard to leave behind.

Todd-Bentley& Wilson-A++++

Like everyone else says... What can I say about Todd that hasn't been said a million times. He is AMAZING!!! He came in and just started snapping shots. He was with us for 8 hours and the whole time he just felt like a friend or guest it was great. Of course I haven't even seen any pictures yet but I know they will be great. He needed up getting over 1600 pictures and I CAN’T wait to see them. I didn’t end up hiring a videographer and after seeing everywhere Todd was at the reception, I know I didn’t need one. This will be the longest 3 weeks of my life while waiting for the pictures haha

DJ and Uplighting-All night long entertainment-A+++

We had Lantz for our DJ and he was amazing! He played everything I put on the sheet and mixed in other songs so well. All of my guests were going on and on about how good he was. He gets right into his job, he was dancing behind his both the whole time. We only had 50 guests and almost everyone was on the dance floor all night! The uplighting was also great it really added to the reception space.

MB Catering-A+++

We had our reception in the Mandalay Bay Foyer and the space was gorgeous!! Best decision I ever made was changing from the ballroom to that space(took forever and was a headache but so worth it.) The view was amazing and when it got dark it was even more beautiful! I can't say enough good things about the space. The food was also amazing, all my guests are still talking about how good it was. We had a full open bar and the bartender did not disappoint, the service was awesome! My guests were raving about how great the bartender was, let's just say he made lots of money that night! My cake was also beautiful, sadly I only had the bite my H feed me but everyone was raving about how good it was.

LTevention- Chair covers & ties-A

I was going back and fourth trying to decide if they were needed. I finally decided a few weeks before the wedding to go for it. They were great and really added to the reception space. Make it look more wedding-y rather then just having banquet chairs.

Jackie- Viva Las Cake pops-A+

I really wanted these for favors for so long and my H kept telling me they weren't necessary. So I decided two or three weeks before that I would just get them. Best decision ever!! They were amazing and ALL of my guests loved them. People were talking about them for days! Jackie is great at doing what she does, they were beautiful and really did add to the reception.

Jason's Deli-C

I ordered the deluxe continental breakfast for 4 people to be delivered the morning of the wedding. It was just for my bridesmaids, Harmony and I to snack on while getting ready. Well the description explains that it includes coffee cake, bagels, muffins and croissants. So I just assumed that meant one of each per person. When it was deliveries there was only one of each. I wasn't really that happy about it but I also didn't ask about it so that's my fault for just assuming. I also ordered a plater of stuff for my vendors. That was a lot of food but the delivery was supposed to be there at 330. Well it wasn't and we had to leave my room at 420 to go down to the ceremony. Finally at 415 they showed up. They cut it real close for me and I wasn't to happy about that.

Edited: forgot one:

Cabana Rentals at MB-C

We decided to rent a few cabanas for the day after the wedding for everyone to relax. Everything went good on the day of and all of our guests really enjoyed it. But after getting home yesterday I noticed they charged my card for something that I didn’t authorize. I had my H call today to ask about it and he was told it was 18% gratuity added. I never authorized this or was I even told about it. I didn't think they cabana “host” deserved a tip for walking us to our cabana. We had a waitress the whole day and she was tipped by us and all of our guests generously. I’m not happy with the Cabana people for just adding their own tips to my card when they weren't supposed too. It was also a $60 tip for each cabana so a total of $120 to walk to me the cabana after checking in. I still debating calling back but I’m not sure it’s worth it.

  • great reviews congrats on wedding.  what colors were you expecting for your bouquet.
  • Congrats to you! I am wondering 2 things--what is "The Foyer" at MB? And what specifically did the MB front desk screw up for you and your guests? I love Aleena (MB coordinator) but anticipation of the hotel staff, makes me very nervous!

    </div><div>It was supposed to be white, and light pinks. But the darker pink color was one of my wedding colors so it all worked out.

    </div><div>Thank you! Mandalay Bay Foyer space is a open concept space in the convention center, next to the ballroom but not closed off, all open with awesome windows and great views.</div><div>
    </div><div>Some many issues with the front desk! We had issues checking in and out of rooms, we switched rooms twice while we were there. Extra charges for us and guests. They put holds on all of the accounts when checking in but don't tell you that. So I had $300 to $500 in holds on my credit cards, it was so annoying!! We kept getting locked out of our rooms because of the room keys. They never answered the phones when you would call from the rooms for help. Some people were charged for other peoples rooms. So many things I can't even think of them all right now!! My Father in law went to the chapel to complain about the front desk but didn't get anywhere with them either.

  • in other words lack of organization.  how was the wedding and coordinating with them in that manner

    <div>The wedding ceremony and reception were perfect, we didn't have any issues with them at all.</div>
  • cool so wedding and all coordination with them were great just front desk lack of organization which sucks monkey balls since 1st impressions everything and cant make a 1st impression a 2nd time.  i would write an email to front desk manager detailing everything and maybe he/she will compensate you and your guests.
  • Is there a catering minimum to use the foyer space for a reception?

    <div>Wow that does sound frustrating! Glad everything else went good for you though!</div>
  • I would love to see pictures of the Foyer.  We are considering moving from the ballroom to the Palm Foyer, but I'm not sure it is worth the cost.  It sounds like you are happy with the decision, though!!

     <div>I don't have my professional pictures yet so I can show you a few views of the room from my guests. I can show you better ones when I get them back from Todd. This is the Mandalay Bay Foyer, it's on the second floor above the Palm Foyer I think.</div><div>
