Patriotic Theme

My FI is in the Nat Guard and I want to have a Patriotic themed wedding but I don't want it to look tacky and 4th of july-ish.  I know my girls will be in blue dresses with red flowers. But I'm not sure about table clothes and other decore. We are getting married outside and the reception is inside (kinda of barn look on the outside but really nice and open on the inside.) It's kinda casual but I want to still I a formalness too it. What can I do to find a balance? Any thoughts and ideas would be helpful!!!!!

    Use the colors but not flag specific decor. You could go with a vintage Americana theme which would work well with the barn setting.

    I'm actually doing the same thing - I found in order to stay away from the 4th of July theme to do blue and white with touches of red.  I'm actually using quite a bit of red, but it's showing up in places you wouldn't expect.  And there's plenty out there for you to find that has those colors.
