Opinions needed!

So we are doing our "leave" after the ceremony because it will be dark after the reception. I really like to be different so I am considering a balloon release instead of blowing bubbles or throwing birdseed. What do you think? Great idea or not so much.....

I think you might have some backlash with that, especially since things are really eco-friendly nowadays (hooray!). Because balloons just pop and become litter for someone else to pick up.

I'm not very green at all but I would probably frown at this.

Our venue suggested throwing grass seed - which is nice because you can't do rice anymore and it's good for the environment.

You can face a hefty littering fine, and even jailtime in some places, for what you're proposing. Just say no.

I think you'd receive criticism for it.

However, one of my high school friends passed away unexpectedly and at his memorial service we realized over 200 helium filled balloons. It was absolutely beautiful.

Our colors are purple/silver and our venue suggested throwing lavender bundles or rose petals. I have to agree with PP's, the balloon thing is much more suited for a funeral, but I can see the beauty that it signifies.
