  I can imagine your panic, but the power companies are saying 7-10 days from this past tuesday. I'd probably wait til Monday to make a decision and go from there.

  1) This is probably the standard date that people are being told by the utility companies.  They want to overestimate, not understimate.   Unless they're in the shore locations, they'll probably be restored over the next few days.
  
  2) Have you gone for any fittings? At this point, you should be at the final fitting for minor things, not beginning the alterations process.  Also not sure how you could lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks.  You also said you have not heard from the dress place.....have YOU tried contacting THEM?  If you don't get through on the phone, go to the store. Many places don't have phone service but are operating on generators or even in the dark.
  
  3) Our venue still has no power and we are scheduled for 11/10.  Our venue has told us to touch base early next week.  I doubt they will let you reschedule this far out (without paying more money).  If they get power back this weekend or even early to mid next week, they will be up and running in no time.  They don't want to lose the money.
  
  Our worst case scenario is we postpone the wedding.

  okay so just found out venue got power this AM! 
  yay!!!
  
  I have tried calling them as well as all of my vendors as soon as I had phone service, finally started getting answers last night/today...
  
  I actually drove to freehold on Wednesday with 1/2 of tank of gas to find out information...
  
  dress appointment for monday
  
  (made appts with davids and group usa for tooday) i don't like my dress 1000% anyway so just to see something else is out there. maybe everything happens for a reason, right?
  
  
  I actually lost 21 pounds in 3 weeks doing a round HCG
  
  my bakery is under water, but the ballroom has stated they work with other bakers...

  You're a week from your wedding and you're going to look at other dresses?  Wow!  Unless it's off the rack, not sure how you can get alterations done that quickly.

  Losing 7lbs a week is not healthy at all!!! Please see a real dr and stop taking that stuff!!! 23llbs a week is considered healthy
