Invites to the President

I can't remember who it was that invited the President and received a response - anyway, I read someplace that you aren't supposed to send it until 10 days after the wedding. Does anyone have an experience with this? Also sending to the Pope?

Ditto on Carole-Anne's link. I sent mine out very early, about 3 weeks ago, and wedding isn't until June. I haven't received a response yet, but hope to before the weddings so I can frame it!

I sent mine about 2 months before the wedding (with all my other invites) and got a response a couple weeks before my wedding.

Oh, and FYI for those who like to plan ahead, I saw you can also send them birth announcements and get a congratulatory note!

We sent our invite to the President out in September or October, got married two weeks ago, and received our card yesterday! Either they have someone track the wedding date or it was great timing.

Does anyone know if Mr. & Mrs. Obama really sign it? We can't tell...

it was posted on our photographers blog. i just dug up the link. it looks like it was at the couple's wedding so they must have sent it beforehand. congratulatory card photo is on here
