$4000 Budget Ideas

I took a break from wedding planning (I KNOW I KNOW.... Not good). I am back to planning. I need suggestions for the items up to us to get.

Food, Bar Rental & Bartender, Ceremony Decorations (although I was thinking of just making pew balls out of silk flowers.. just a few), Send off items (bubbles or sparklers), MOH bouquet, Boutinnieres, Flower Girl flowers, Photographer, Videographer, Bridal party gifts, Transportation, Flatware, Napkins, Glasses.

I know I may need to cut out transporation.

I like Evan Godwin or Karen Scruggs for budget photography.

Are you hiring a caterer?  That will take alot of your list. Do you have your venue yet?

Oriental Trading for wedding bubbles.  If you only need a few flowers, you might want to go with Market Street or somewhere like that.  You might also be able to order pre-made stuff online, like from Sam's.

  • Market Street is similar to Central Market or Whole Foods.
Are you saying your future ILs are paying for the stuff that is not on the list, and you have 4000 to pay for all the items on the list?  I'm confused.
Have you considered cutting out a videographer?  I think affording both photography and videography on your budget is going to be tough.a

With 4000 we are paying everything I listed.
I have and I actually posted it on another board whether I would regret it or not. Im going to see if someone in the family can record ceremony instead. UNLESS by some miracle, I can make it work.

You can see what Sam's offers online if you look at the flowers section.  There are wedding packages, bouquets you could use for centerpieces, rose petals, or bulk flowers if you want to diy.  That's where I am getting my flowers.  I've gotten flowers from there before and they were really beautiful.

I just ordered our bubbles from Amazon and thought they were a good price.

  • Central Market would be very close to you as far as DIY flowers (the Greenville/Lovers location) and they wholesale order flowers. A consultation with one of their florists costs nothing. They are very responsive and their flowers are top-notch in terms of quality.

Evan Godwin and Stephanie Brazzle are great photographers within your price range.

Food: Central Market or BBQ (Mike Andersons is very budget friendly) Maybe even a food truck?
Bar Rental & Bartender: Specs/Sams. Maybe just offer beer (keg) and wine instead of full bar. If you serve beringer, or I have even heard of some brides offering two buck chuck (Trader Joe's).
Ceremony Decorations (although I was thinking of just making pew balls out of silk flowers.. just a few): A low-cost pew decoration I did was glass bottles (pop sized bottles) with hydrangeas and baby's breath.
Send off items (bubbles or sparklers): both look great. I got my sparklers from a wholesale online $45 for 120. Check craigslist or Hobby Lobby for bubbles (use a coupon at HL)
    MOH bouquet: CM
Boutinnieres: I have seen lots of non-flower DIYs, alternatively, if you go with a single stem, these can be relatively inexpensive.
Bridal party gifts: I did a handstamped bag with my bridesmaids' initials on them. I gave them jewlery (from Charming Charlie), a clutch (from H&M) and a champagne glass (Ikea) with their initial in glitter from a diy I saw on pinterest. Under 10$ per bridesmaid. DH bought his groomsment their bowties (online wholesale) and chuck taylors (Academy).
Transportation: Bowtie Vintage Classics ($300)- Well worth it!
Flatware: They have some pretty real-looking "silverware" plasticware at Sams/Costco. Alternatively, some caterers provide this.
Napkins: Wholesale online if you want linen, or rent, if paper napkins are fine: Sams/Costco
Glasses: Sams/Costco. Or rent. TBH, no one will care if you serve out of plastic glasses. Booze is booze.

  • Another idea- my friend in Houston had her flowers done at Kroger.  Maybe there are some regular grocery stores here who do the same?
  • This post is so helpful! I think my end-budget will come in around near yours, just a different structure (I am using the 3-5k from my family for Venue/Food/Drink, rest on me) so all of those tips were great. I also read somewhere that its cheap to go to the farmers market and create your own flower arrangements - I think we are going to do a test run on this sometime soon, could be a disaster.

Random question that won't really apply to me but I was curious during my searches - I know when you rent out Winfrey Point there is an extra deposit for alcohol, but are you also still required to have a TABC server? I saw a cute picture at an event once of beer in a metal "bucket" of sorts, and I was wondering if this was the kind of venue that you would be able to do that at. If you can that was a really fun look in my opnion, at least for beer - sure you can get one of those long metal buckets cheap and they wriote with chalk on it "grab a cold one" or something like that.

</div><div>i honestly dont know. They actually never told me I needed a TABC server. I would like one just so we can have a signature drink made along with the beer. </div><div>That is a cool idea though!</div><div>

  • check out my vendor reviews. ALL were bbudget friendly! :) Our DJ, DOC, photo, caterer was awesome and I know they both give a great deal!! We did all the reception flowers ourselves in various bottles. They looked beautful when it all came together. We bought bouquets and fillers from Market Street and Costco. We had my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 6 bouts, 2 cousages and a toss bouquet for $195 and they were gorgeous. Our florist is in my review.

    Good luck!! :)

    What is your theme btw?

Just go back to the local board and the topic is vendor review with me as the poster.
Michaels has come really cute small bird cages that could act as centerpeices, they are probably on sale now too after Easter. They could always be spray painted to match your colors. It's you go on etsy there are a ton of lil bird themed items. Our cake topper were actually birds. Ill post a pic one I get them.
