Money Gifts

So this may be written somewhere else but I can't seem to locate it.

My wedding is coming up very quickly, 3 weeks. And now we have started receiving cards with checks in the mail. What do we do with these? Do we hold on to them and then cash them all at once after the wedding? I wasn't really quite sure etiquette wise what we should do. I don't want to offend anyone.

Thank you for all of your help.Smile

Re: Money Gifts

  • I would go ahead and deposit them, so people's checkbooks don't get screwed up. Just don't use the money til after the wedding. I hate it when people hang onto checks for weeks. And write the TY notes as soon as you get the checks, so that the senders know you got them.

  • Cash them and get a thank you note out but do not spend the money until after the wedding.  I personally hate hate hate having outstanding checks so when I write one it drives me insane if someone takes a month to cash it.

Personally, I tend to put the thank you in the mail before cashing a check, but I'm thank-you obsessive so that's just me.
  • Awesome...Thanks for the help girls!Laughing
