Color Palate Guidance please

Hey Ladies,

My favorite color is red and I would love to include it within our wedding palate as a highlight. However, the reception hall we are going with has blue's, golds, and cream/ivory. We were hoping to go with red and silver but not make it look to christmasee. Any help on how we can intigrate this strong color with the reception hall colors?

I want to carry red roses but hated the idea of red/burgendy being the dominant color. Two of my friends had burgendy weddings. I went with a dark blue/mercury/red color scheme with the red as an accent color. If you don't want a Christmasy wedding could you add cream and/or blue as accents since they are already at the reception hall? That could help.
