The dishwasher at our reception venue doesn't work and I need your advice about plates, glasses, etc. We are not hiring a catering company and instead have a few family and friends who will be doing the food for us, one of which is my dad. I don't want them to have to hand wash every individual plate/glass/silverware piece but want them to enjoy the party. The reception will not be too formal and we're having a backyard BBQ style dinner. Would it be tacky if we bought heavy crystal plastic cups and nice durable paper plates for guests and they could throw them out after??
