I was just wondering how many of you have already booked your venue and how much was your down payment?? Just seeing and comparing as you all know my first venue I wanted was booked and we will visit the next one on May 1st and I am super excited so was just wondering who was locked in already???

We're using the same place for our ceremony and the reception and did put down the $1000 downpayment. Total will be $13,400 when all is said and done. It's definitely more than we wanted to spend but the venue was the most important thing for both of us.

I'm not locked in but the venue we are getting is holding our date anyways without a deposit until someone else comes along withe the same date. We are trying to discuss several matters with a venue that I had won in a prize pkg. but I dont think its going to work out with them, which is why the other venue is being so gracious.

Oh and the deposit for the venue we will more than likely be going with is 650, thats the total cost as well as the deposit. You ahve to buy any and all food from them, which should be around $3500-4000 mark.

I have booked the church and the reception.

The church in total will cost $550 and we put down $300 deposit
The reception in total will cost $22,000 and our deposit was $3200. The reception requires a payment every quarter until paid in full.

We have our reception booked and the deposit was $1000...total with food and beverages for around 140ish people is $6000ish.

Our ceremony site was booked with a $100 deposit and the total cost for that is $375! We got an awesome deal because since the place is becoming a little more popular they increased the price to $900...so since I had the previous paperwork they gave it to us for the $375! woot!

Our Venue is booked and the deposite was $1500. The venue was one of the first things we booked. Food and location was very important to us.

Our venue is booked and we put down $5000 our total cost is $25,375. We have to guarantee 175 and weddings are super pricey in North Jersey!!

Our reception venue is booked. $1000 total deposit. Paid $500 in February. I'm planning on paying the other $500 tomorrow or next Thursday. Nothing else is due until the week of the wedding. Our Church's deposit will be $300.

Our venue is for both ceremony/reception. I've mailed the 500 deposit this week, and the total is 1000. I'm super excited!! YAY!

Wow you guys are busy I feel so behind in all my planning but work schedules are so crazy for me. Hopefully the outside venue we visit on May 1st will be the one they also have an option for outside ceremonies so I hope to definitely get a deal and do both all in one place so I will definitely keep you ladies updated. Thanks for all the responses and congrats to you all on booking your venues I know it feels amazing :-)

My church and venue are booked and payed off. We booked back in Sept/Oct.

Church $550
Venue $9000. The deposit was 20% but we put down $4500. Our venue includes Food, dj, officiant, cake,full bar.

Both ceremony and reception/food booked 2000 then one month later 1,500 so so far 3,500. We don't pay anymore until 6 months before the wedding. But our total venue/reception cost is going to be around 25,000

Our reception venue was booked in February. We are having it at a country club for 130 people. The downpayment was $2000 and the total cost will be 12800 (service fee and tax included).

We booked ours in Jan, we're in a really small town in alberta (i'm originally a city girl so i can appreciate what kind of a deal we got) This completely new golf and country club deposit was $500 (site rental $750) and the total (with food/bev) should be about $8,000. Booking far in advace was important for us because my FI farms and we were really limited to the dates we can get married. Oh and for the ceremony we're doing it in the future spot of the house we're building (out in the middle of a field hehe) so we just have to rent the chairs

Our ceremony and reception are in the same place and are booked. Deposit was only $500 and the quote she gave us was $20,000. The rest is due 10 days before the wedding. My jaw dropped at that price but it was quoted at 200 people with booze for all 200. We've only got 180 on the guest list right now and of course not all those people are over 21. But that cost includes the ceremony, reception, food, drinks, DJ, and awesomeness that is the place haha. It's kind of a one stop shopping type thing.

Hey, I'm new, but I'm a north jersey bride too...July 14, 2012...we are signing the contract next weekend (have on hold for now b/c we're heading out on vaca this weekend! yay!) and will need $6,000 as deposit, but the venue includes food, cake, drinks, etc. And agreed with LADY324...north jersey is very pricey...but at least its not NYC prices!

Our ceremony and reception are going to be at the same venue and the deposit was the price of the site rental ($2,000). We don't owe anymore until January when we'll owe have of the food and beverage cost.

Our church and venue are both booked. The venue deposit was $1000, then another $1000 due in October and the rest due about 10 days before the wedding - July 7, 2012. Im so excited!!
