Keep Me Busy!

Awful week, long day, got in a confrontation and blew up at a guy who thinks he's my boss (but isn't), and I just want it to be 1:30pm tomorrow so I can leave for my cruise already!!!

And now it's quiet around here when I most need these last two hours to pass quickly.  Anyone got something to distract me or cheer me up?

    I just wasted an hour on that... what's next?

    And I have to get from 9-1 tomorrow before I leave on my trip!  Gah!!!!  I might hang myself on my telephone cord before then!

    Yes, in my office.  Your standard issue black box telephone with lots of buttons to do fancy things like transfer calls, conference call in someone, put it on speaker or hold.  I know, impressive, right?

    Not.  I hate my phone.  A lot.  And I'm really, really, REALLY freaking frustrated recently.  My stress level is usually around a 2-3 on a 10 scale, and right now it's an 11. Gotta get back to running all the time to keep my brain tied on!

    I really like David Thorne, too (if you know of the seven-legged spider e-mail prank, that's who he is).  Dude's a freakin' genius, but he can get pretty long-winded.  Anyway, enjoy:

    Funny story from work yesterday:

    I had a patient who is 85, female, and in a VIP room. I had to doppler her feet, and the good we use looks like KY jelly. There wasn't much left in the bottle so I was shaking it down pretty hard. Hey good thing the cap wasn't screwed on at all. The remainder of the goo and the cap went flying across the room... across the hall, and into another room. My 85 year old patient was on the phone, and told whoever she was talking to that "my nurse just threw KY jelly on the floor across the hall," while laughing tears.
