  Dresses are easy to sell, though, after cleaning, it'll go for about half what you bought it for. If that. As long as you have realistic expectations it's pretty easy. There are plenty of sites to list it on, and not much work beyond that to do.
  
  I haven't actually done it, but I know plenty of people who have, and I am hoping my dress will come up on a used site soon so I can save over a new one.

  I have sold a dress, but it was unworn and unaltered.  it still sold for about 1/2 of the original price.  How easy it will be to sell will really be determined by the style, size and price. 
  
  You can cruise recycledbride.com; oncewed.com; preownedweddingdress.com and also, here, on TK classifieds to get an idea of what they are going for.  But, for the most part, if you paid $1400.00 (NOT including alterations or cleaning) for it, you can plan on getting about $500-$700 for it.

  The dress isn't mine...so anything I get out of it will be a plus. It's a size 12 so I am hoping that will be an advantage.

  that's great then.  I would suggest pricing it lower than the other ones you are seeing on the resale boards, you'll get more attention then.    I priced mine $50.00 cheaper than every other seller for the same gown, and mine sold within 2 weeks.
