Bahamas ?

my fiancé and I are hoping to go to the Bahamas and stay at the Atlantis hotel has anyone ever beenhere before? How did you like it? And what kind of fun things can you do here? Thanks : )

Re: Bahamas ?

  • We've never stayed at the Atlantis but dh and I have been to the Bahamas twice.  It's great.  You can go into the down town area while you're there.  I think that resort is in Nassau right?
  • We are actually planning on doing a cruise and this is one  of the stops.  We also want to go to Atlantis but I think one day will be plenty of time there.  By doing the cruise we get to see more islands than just Atlantis and if we like it, we can always go back.

  • Atlantis resort is absolutely breathtaking! As soon as you pull up to the resort, you literally have to gasp for air...that's how gorgeous it is!! We stayed at the royal towers and I highly recommend that area. I don't recommend getting a food plan there since the food is delicious and there are so many fabulous restaurants to try. You will see families here, like any other resort but it is a normal amount. If you want adults only...then this isn't the place for you. It would be same amount of kids you would find anywhere. To be honest, i dont remember seeing a lot of kids so it coulsnt have been bad. There is plenty to do...beach is right outside the resort, swimming with dolphins, walking the boat marina at nightthis is a gorgeous place with million dollar yachts and fabulous stores and restaurants, shopping and restaurants in the city, casino, spa, and many other water excursions and activities. What kind of trip are you looking for?
  • I stayed at Atlantis for a week a few years ago. The PPs are right, there are tons of kids there, but I personally didnt think it was that bad. I am pretty sure there is an adults only tower with a seperate pool, but I could be wrong. While Atlantis is absolutely beautiful, it was crazy expensive. There is a lot to do there though, they have a casino, clubs, bars, tons of restaurants, lots of pools, right on the beach, we snorkled one day and I hung out on the lazy river a lot.  We did leave the property once, and went to a flea market type place where you can barter, I felt super safe there. For the amount of money I spent there, I think if I ever go back to the Bahamas, I will stay at a Sandals, or another AI.
