Bachelorette Party - Help!

Hi ladies!  I am trying to plan a bachelorette party for my friend and she is interested in coming to Pittsburgh.  We live in Ohio currently, and I do not know much about the area.  Can anyone recommend  places to stay? Do you know of any hotels that have large suites?  If not, any nice hotels? What area to stay?  We are coming from a Fri-Sun.  Sat night she wants to go out to bars/clubs....

Any advice will help greatly!!

Thanks in advance!

  • Station Square is a great place to start. You have the hotel down there, various bars, clubs and shopping. As well within walking distance of the city which ihas more great stuff to do. But if you are looking to drive go to the strip district lots of shopping and some places to eat. I know MOH is planning the same for me dntown. Friday we are going to dinner at a winery in Gibsonia, Saturday going into the city for Mani's Peds, lunch, shopping, then she has plans to get ready and host a sex toy party to embrass with some games, then go out to bars. It will be nice cause Friday my mom, FMIL, FSIL and lil cousin can all come out and get dinner and drinks since they won't go out on saturday night. Hope that helps when are you looking to take her out?

  • For mine, we went out to Baroom/Saddleridge/Beach Club in Station Square and it was a blast! You have 3 bars all with in 1 place and can go between them all. Plus, if you call ahead, you can get in for free without paying a cover.

As for hotel, the Sheraton at Station Square is really nice!
  • Sheraton makes getting ready at the hotel and going to dinner in Station Square really easy. I also know the Double Tree has really nice suites. You can arrange for a DD limo (http://www.ddlimo.net) in advance (it's much cheaper than renting one for the entire night) to take you to the South Side or anywhere after dinner. We took a friend to Charlie Murdoch's piano bar in the South Side, just stopped in for like an hour at the beginning of their show, and had them sing and embarass her on stage. (Reserve a table even if you aren't staying there for the entire evening; it gets packed on the weekend) We also booked the private upstairs room at Towne Tavern for a few hours - I think this place has since closed - but there are other bars that have something similar. We paid a per person fee to have the room and it came with our own bartender, unlimited drinks and appetizers. We pretty much drank there and then didn't have to buy many more drinks when we bar hopped. Have fun!
  • I echo the Sherton/Station Square ideas as nice. The Double Tree has awesome suites for big groups. I'd suggest booking a DD limo (http://www.ddlimo.net) in advance to go to the South Side (or anywhere!) It's way cheaper than renting one for the entire night and they've always been on time when I used them. We stopped in Charlie Murdoch's piano bar in the SS during my friend's bach party so they could sing and embarass her on stage. There are also a few bars in the SS that have private rooms. The one we used is closed but it was only like $35 per person for unlimited drinks, your own bartender and appetizers for a few hours before bar hopping elsewhere. (And they let us have a stripper come to the private room of the bar -- it was hilarious) Have fun!
  • You can also look into the Holiday Inn Express on the South Side. They have suites available and that would put you within walking distance of the bars on the Southside. Mario's on the Southside has a private room that isn't too expensive, if I recall. The Holiday Inn also offers a free shuttle over to the casino that's on the north side. Also, it's pretty tough to get a cab here just by flagging one down, so you will want to research cab companies ahead of time or arrange for a driver, as the other girls said.
  • You might want to try the SouthSideWorks area, which is about 25 to 30 blocks east of Station Square. A hotel has or will shortly open up. There are a number of nice restaurants and bars in the complex. And there is more shopping than at Station Square. While you are a farther away from Downtown, Oakland is much closer.

Likewise you might want to look into the Homestead Waterfront
