bridesmaid dress question

i have been going back and forth about having short or long bridesmaids dresses.  i am getting married on a sunday afternoon in september, but my own dress and the venue are quite formal.  is it weird to have bridesmaids wear long dresses in the afternoon, when it will still technically be summer?

Re: bridesmaid dress question

  • My DD had a 4:30 pm outdoor wedding in July.  Her WP wore long dresses.  it was fine.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • My sister had a formal wedding and at the end of July and we wore long dresses.  It was beautiful.

  • I think it would be fine! I have been to a ton of weddings in early September & their BM's wore long dresses!!

  • If it's a super formal wedding, you should probably have them wear long dresses. But I had a semi formal wedding and the girls wore knee length dresses in Sept.
