DH and I watched this show last night. It's on Nat Geo These people are definitely a train wreck you can't look away from.
My favorites:
*The lady who has, like, 3 stocked pantries. She buys eggs in bulk and dips them in mineral oil and supposedly they'll keep for months. She also dips her cheese in wax to preserve it. She teaches other people how to be a doomsday prepper. She and her H routinely wake up in the middle of the night to run end of the world drills. They've learned some Filipino dialect that only 12 people in the world know and they have learned how to communicate with one another by banging on random appliances and boxes in their home.
*The lady who grows and cans everything and stockpiles it. She thinks that when the world ends, that everyone is going to be peaceful and nice and share and share alike. Therefore they do not need weapons. At the end of the world everyone is going to sit around a fire and sing "Kum-ba-yah".
None of these people have real life jobs(except for the family of 6 or so people...they could spread out the work) and this doomsday prepping takes up HOURS of their days. And all these people have a specific way/fear on how the world is going to end.
The best part is they had experts at the end of each segment who graded these people on how well prepared they are the areas they need to work on. And then they followed up to see if the advice was taken.
