Wedding Day Itinerary

I've been trying to put together an itinerary for the day of the wedding but I don't know what should come first or how i should organize the day. I have everything up to the ceremony tentatively scheduled but I'm lost as to the order of events at the reception. Do we introduce our bridal party and ourselves then go into supper or do we go ahead and do our first dance. How long should we wait after supper to do the cake cutting/ speeches/ garter & bouquet toss? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • This is what we did:
    Grandparent intros
    Parents intros
    BP intros
    B/G intro
    First Dance
    BM/MOH toasts
    Dinner
    Father/Daughter dance
    Mother/son dance
    dancing
our cake cutting was supposed to be at 9pm, we ended up doing it earlier since it was melting in the heat.  I've seen this done right after the first dance as well

If you are having a DJ they should be able to help with the timeline as well.

It was great - I gave a copy to all the vendors, and they ran with it.  No DOC required.

  • We did
    ~Dinner (buffet)
~Our entrance (we ate in a room away from everyone else)
    ~First dance
    ~Father/Daughter dance
    ~Intro of Santa Claus
    ~Toast
    ~Cake
  • we got all the boring crap out of the way first, that way people could start dancing and having fun whenever. So we were announced and went straight into the dances, then the toasts. (guests were served their salads before we started so they could eat that during). Then we took a short break and cut the cake during the main course.

Then we were DONE and people could enjoy themselves. I personally hate when people drag out the broring parts. Let the party begin! And NEVER interrupt it and push people off the dance floor for somethings. Thats a major party foul.
  • I have a meeting with Rob Sword while we are there, and we were planning on Publix for cake also. How was the music?

9:30 first dances then floor open to everyone to get party started!
